mexican food_peppersTwo Bowdoin graduates are mentioned in a recent Portland Press Herald food column that offers advice on the best meals to make for tired parents home with a newborn or others needing a home-cooked dish.

Emily (Huhn) Griffith ’00 told writer Laura McCandlish that she and her husband, Dave Griffith ’00, a visiting chemistry professor at Bowdoin, make the meal she most craved when her daughter was born two years ago: chicken burritos. “Now, Emily brings these handy freezer burritos to all her new-mom friends; vegetarians get a zucchini and brown rice version,” McCandlish writes. The Griffiths also recently made a big batch for themselves to freeze in anticipation of their second child, who arrived May 13.
