Douglas Kennedy ’76 hated Maine when he first visited at a young age for summer camp, but he came back to attend Bowdoin and Vacationland ended up stealing his heart. When in Portland, he can be seen haunting various cafés to write – otherwise, you might find him in one of his “pied-à-terres” in Montreal, London, Paris, or Berlin. Kennedy has written 10 books, one of which has been turned into a feature film (The Woman in the Fifth) and another of which has just recently been released (Five Days). Read more in an interview with Kennedy from Portland Monthly.
