Video: Co-Curators of Prendergast Show Chat About the Artist’s Seaside Paintings

Art historian, curator and author Nancy Mathews recently interviewed Bowdoin curator Joachim Homann about the Museum’s current Maurice Prendergast exhibition. She aired the conversation on her television show, Art/World with Nancy MathewsMaurice Prendergast: By the Sea was co-curated by Homann and Mathews and is the first to present the seaside work of the post-impressionist painter. It features 36 watercolors, 32 oil paintings and additional works in various media. The exhibition runs through October 13.

    I just went to South Beach yesterday with a couple friends, and the way Mr. Homann describes the coastal experience is spot on: it truly does “awaken the senses.”
