The Photomag features Detroit-born photographer Mark Laita’s series “Created Equal,” which juxtaposes portraits of people occupying high and low socioeconomic positions in the United States. The project, which took Laita nearly eight years to complete, also compares people from different subcultures, such as a bank robber and a policeman, and Amish teens and punk teens.
