Scott Wiercinski
The Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Scott Wiercinski as head coach of men’s soccer. A native of Brunswick and graduate of Brunswick High School, Wiercinski will return to Maine after seven years as head coach at the University of Chicago.
Baseball — The baseball team swept Roger Williams to open its 2013 campaign Sunday in Florida. The Polar Bears (2-0) took game-one by a score of 4-2 and followed it up with a 7-3 win in the nightcap. Bowdoin will return to action Tuesday with a pair of games against Daniel Webster.
Men’s Tennis — The men’s tennis team opened its spring season with a resounding 7-2 win over Stevens Institute Sunday in California. The Polar Bears (1-0) enter their spring campaign ranked fifth in Division III.
