New Site Finds Your Next Favorite Book (Mashable)

The recently launched site Bookish uses “machine learning and big data” to make recommendations for readers, Mashable reports, as well as relying on old-fashioned book editors to write reviews and pick out their favorite books in 18 categories. The site has financial backing from big publishers, like Penguin, and other publishers have agreed to provide Bookish with exclusive content.

Bookish has developed technology to analyze data both about books and from reader reviews to highlight particular themes and motifs. So when users type in books they’ve loved, they automatically receive a list of other books the site has matched for them.
