Karen Mills to Step Down as SBA Administrator

Karen Gordon Mills—the wife of Bowdoin President Barry Mills—announced Monday that she will be stepping down as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Mills, who has held the post since April 2009, told members of her staff that leading the SBA “has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.” In a statement, President Obama praised Mills for her work on behalf of America’s small businesses. “Because of Karen’s hard work and dedication, our small businesses are better positioned to create jobs and our entire economy is stronger,” he said.

The full statement by Karen Mills appears here on the SBA website.
