Top Food Trends On Way to Our Stomachs in 2013 (Food & Wine)

Chefs are expected to be puffing up dishes with grains to add a “texture bolt” and dabbling with unusual sea products, like seaweed and sea buckthorn, predict editors at Food & Wine. Other top restaurant trends in 2013 will supposedly be the presence of ash on cooked meat to add “smoky notes” and slate slabs instead of your standard porcelain plates.

  • Love trends, but skip the ash unless it is from virgin, chemical treated wood. Be very careful with slate-it can chip-colorful patterned works of tiles works wellwell with textured linens & variety of solid colored plates, glassware, & vases with solid flowers. All can be purchased on line or box stores. Enjoy!). My former clients loved this look starting with Mardi Gras
