The two films — Lincoln, directed by Steven Speilberg, and Django Unchained, by Quentin Tarantino —  have sparked a lot of commentary and argument from scholars, filmmakers and critics around the country. Patrick Rael, an associate professor of history at Bowdoin, offers his opinions on the two recent films in his blog posts, “Django Unchained” and “All About Lincoln.” While both films deal with the fight against American slavery, there the similarity seems to end, Rael begins one of his posts.
