How Your Real Christmas Tree is Helping Fight Climate Change (Mother Jones)


Feel holiday guilt no more (at least about your Christmas tree; you’re on your own with all that family stuff), for new research finds that Christmas tree farms are mitigating climate change.

The key to this is apparently in the soil. As Mother Jones reports, tree plots are nature’s sponges, absorbing about 10 times as much carbon as the wood itself.
