UC Berkeley Spending $3.1 Million to Study Power of Gratitude (San Francisco Business Times)

For many people, sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner means sharing with family and friends what it is they’re thankful for. And perhaps this November, you’ve seen the practice on Facebook of a daily posting akin to a “gratitude journal.” The science of gratitude — looking into the effects it can have on a person — is becoming a matter of course at the University of California-Berkeley. Its Greater Good Science Center is spending $3.1 million, a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, to study gratitude in a project it’s calling Thnx4.org.
