Swimming and Diving — The Bowdoin College swim teams both took split-decisions at their season-opening meets at MIT on Saturday. The Polar Bear women defeated Babson (183.00-101.00) and lost to MIT (224.00-87.00) while the men also beat Babson (201.00-105.00) but fell to MIT (241.00-70.00).
Men’s Cross Country — The Bowdoin College men’s cross country team finished 16th at the NCAA Division III Championship race on Saturday hosted by Rose Hulman Institute in Indiana.
Women’s Basketball — Bowdoin College opened the second half of play with a 14-0 run on its way to a 50-37 victory over Framingham State University in the consolation game of the 2012 Babson Invitational Tournament at Staake Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Men’s Basketball — The Bowdoin College men’s basketball team picked up its first win of the 2012-13 campaign in a 72-63 win over Western New England in the third-place game of the Eastern Connecticut State Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Women’s Ice Hockey — The Bowdoin College women’s ice hockey team suffered a 4-1 setback in its season debut at second-ranked Plattsburgh State University on Saturday afternoon.
Men’s Ice Hockey — The Bowdoin and Middlebury men’s ice hockey teams played to a 4-4 tie in a battle of nationally-ranked squads on Saturday afternoon at Sidney J. Watson Arena.
