Local beekeeper Rose Nelson recently offered a beekeeping class at the Craft Center for students and staff. Besides sharing her knowledge about pollinators and equipment, she brought in one of her hives for a honey-extracting demonstration. Following Nelson’s presentation, Loni Ellis offered a class on candle making.
This semester, the Craft Center has already hosted a number of how-to classes, including ones on making fused glass earrings, ceramics, tie dyed t-shirts, glass magnets and Decalcomania watercolors, a technique often used by the surrealist painters of the 30′s and 40′s. In the next few weeks, students can sign up to make paper bangles, mirror mosaics and more.
