World’s Cheapest Car Coming to U.S. Market (Huffington Post)

The Nano minicar, made by Indian automaker Tata, was released in 2009 as the world’s cheapest car, with a price tag of $2,500. Although it hit a few bumps in the road — some Nanos burst into flames, for instance — Tata plans to begin selling the car in Europe and the U.S. within the next three years, Automotive News reports.

“But in the process of adjusting the car to fit American standards, the Nano will end up losing its incredibly cheap price tag,” Huffington Post says. The new price will be closer to $8,000.
