The seventh annual Phil Soule 5K “Phlail” was held Sunday on the Pickard Field cross country course, attracting 131 finishers. A beloved figure at the College, Soule coached football for 39 years. He was also an assistant coach in lacrosse, squash and track, and also served stints as the head coach for the baseball and wrestling teams. One of the founders of the Maine Rowdies running club, Phil was a competitive runner. Marathons, ultra-marathons and triathlons were his favorite events.
