Slideshow: Bowdoin Crew Dedicates New Shell

More than 100 members of the rowing team, past and present, along with parents and other family members, gathered at Smith House, the Bowdoin Rowing boathouse, to dedicate a new shell — a gift from Mara and Pete Taft P’11 — during Family Weekend.

During the ceremony, the team also awarded an oar to R. Tyler Smith ’96 who was a captain his senior year. Afterward, many ventured down to the dock along the New Meadows River to board boats and try their hand at an oar. Photos by Dennis Griggs/Tannery Hill Photography.
