Yesterday’s long-awaited announcement from Apple brought joy to throngs of tech junkies, as well as to the companies that make all those iPhone peripherals. As The New York Times reports, the new iPhone 5 requires a totally redesigned connector, and that means new docks, car chargers, alarm clocks, and a whole lot of new revenue for the companies that make them.

Of course. Yet more opportunities to pay $20 for a 3 foot length of wire and a couple of connectors. Irritating. I welcome this, however, for the now likely chance to get Iphone 4′s at a discount.
