Karen Fuller '84
Peter Fuller ’59 recently traveled to South Africa with his wife to watch their daughter, also a Bowdoin alum, race in the Comrades Marathon in Durban.
The 56-mile race was held June 3 and attracted runners from 20 countries, 180 of them from the United States, Fuller said.
The first Comrades Marathon took place in 1921, and has been held every year since except for the war years of 1941 to 1945. Peter Fuller snapped this photo of Karen just after she had finished her 11-hour run.

Congratulations Karen! I’m curious? Did your dad run along to keep your pace up to speed? Hope to see you in Maine soon! Ray Brearey
