In a message to the Bowdoin community, President Barry Mills and Dean of Student Affairs Tim Foster praised Ward’s remarkable commitment to Bowdoin athletics and student-athletes, saying, “Of all that he has accomplished at Bowdoin, we know Jeff is most proud of his role as a teacher. While he treasures the enthusiasm and excitement that college athletics can inject into the lives of participants and the larger community — and the relationships that flow from these experiences — it is the educational component of sport that Jeff holds most dear.” Continue reading Ward to Step Down from Athletic Director Post  Abe Morell '71 Artist Abelardo Morell ’71, known for his camera obscura photography, is among 16 artists commissioned to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. His creation, inspired by a scene in the 1958 Alfred Hitchock film Vertigo, Morell’s favorite, uses a window of Fort Port to make a camera obscura viewers can actually enter and produces ever-changing images of the bridge. The Bowdoin College Women’s Hockey Team has given $1,600 to the Women’s Health Fund at Mid Coast Hospital to support breast cancer patients who are in financial need. Team members raised the funds on campus and at hockey games this season by accepting donations for the pink ribbons they created.
