Video: Karen Mills Pushes for Small Business Jobs Bill in Portland (WCSH)

Karen Mills, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and wife of President Barry Mills, delivered the keynote address before commercial lenders from 25 states at the SBA-sponsored East Coast Conference in Portland Monday. Mills is pushing for passage of the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act once the Senate returns to session in September. The bill includes a $30 billion lending fund for small businesses, $12 billion in tax breaks and an increase in SBA loan limits.

Bowdoin Field Hockey Ranked 11th in Preseason Division III Poll

The Bowdoin College field hockey team is ranked 11th in the nation according to a Preseason Poll released by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The Polar Bears, who finished the 2009 campaign with a record of 10-6, received a pair of first-place votes in the poll.

Today we unveil a new look for the Bowdoin Daily Sun (BDS) designed to improve readability and the organization of information. In the coming weeks, as the Polar Bears return to action, the BDS scoreboard will reappear on the page, along with the full schedule of sporting events. And beginning this week, the BDS returns to a full seven-day schedule, so look for us on Saturday and Sunday too.
