The idea is to make the items—more than 270 of which are already online—available to the public and scholars even when they cannot be on exhibit.

Bowdoin College held its 2010 Baccalaureate ceremony Friday, May 28, marking the official close of the academic year and celebrating the College’s 205th Commencement (to be held Saturday, May 29). President Mills spoke of the state of higher education; Nathan Isaacson ’10 spoke of the inextricable link between Bowdoin and Maine; and distinguished educator and author Joan Countryman delivered the keynote address. The Bowdoin community celebrated Baccalaureate Friday in the Watson Arena with addresses by President Barry Mills, honorand and educator Joan C. Countryman, and Nathan Isaacson ’10. Bowdoin College junior men’s tennis player Stephen Sullivan did not lose a set in a pair of victories, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III singles championship on Friday at Oberlin College.

Bowdoin College senior Devin Walsh (West Simsbury, Conn.) was honored by the Maine State Chapter of the National Football Foundation as the Collegiate Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Walsh received his honor at the Chapter’s annual banquet on Wednesday evening.
