Bowdoin Invited to Join American Academy of Arts & Sciences Affiliates

Bowdoin has come full circle in accepting an invitation to join the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as a University Affiliate. The Academy was co-founded by James Bowdoin II during the American Revolution.

    Why didn’t Bowdoin become a member a long time ago or, if Bowdoin needed to be asked, why wasn’t it asked long ago?
